Celebrating the Big Move to Kindergarten at St. Matthew’s Weekday School
When a child is ready for kindergarten, it’s a big moment. It’s big for your family, and for us too. Watching our SMWS children start their next chapter is one of our favorite parts of the job. We help every family make the move with confidence. And we stay part of your child’s story long after they leave us.
Where They Go Next
Most SMWS families go to their local public school. For many, that’s Wakefield Elementary right down the road. Some families pick a different school that fits them best, like a Montessori or private school. Wherever your child goes, we’re cheering them on.
This year, Ms. Vanessa and Shirley visited the kindergarten classrooms at Wakefield. They saw former SMWS children right at home, happy and busy learning. We want to stay in touch with the schools our families move to. That way, we always know where our children are headed and how they’re doing.
A Confident Send-Off
Moving on can feel like a lot for parents. We’re right there with you. Our teachers watch each child grow all year, and they share how your child is doing along the way. So when the big day comes, you feel ready. By the time children leave us, they bring independence, curiosity, and a love of learning to their new class. They can sit with a group, speak up with confidence, and feel at home in a new room. They’re ready for whatever kindergarten brings.
Staying Connected
We love our SMWS families, and that doesn’t stop when a child moves up. As children head off to kindergarten, our whole team sends them off with warm wishes.
