Celebration of Peace at SMWS
Last week we honored MLK Jr. with our Celebration of Peace. This weeklong event brought meaningful moments into classrooms across our school.
Throughout the week, our teaching team guided children through experiences focused on kindness, friendship, and peace. Toddlers practiced gentle, caring actions with friends during everyday classroom routines. Our three-year-old classes traced their hands and created framed artwork that showed how their hands can help others. The Whales group cared for our campus through a school service project that supported shared spaces.
Members of our teaching team and staff also modeled helpful actions around the school. These moments were captured and shared as part of a dove-shaped Peace display that now hangs in our building. The display reflects how small acts of care connect our school community.
This celebration highlighted how children learn values through daily actions and shared responsibility.
