Fairy Tales Came to Life at St. Matthew's Weekday School
This week at St. Matthew's Weekday School, our summer campers stepped into a world of wonder as we kicked off our Fairy Tales theme. From the moment they walked through the door, the magic was on.
Our teaching team transformed classrooms into enchanted kingdoms. Children dressed as their favorite storybook characters, complete with crowns, capes, and wands. We read classic tales together, acted out scenes from beloved stories, and even built our very own castles out of cardboard and craft supplies. The creativity our kids brought to every activity was something to see.
One of the highlights of the week was our royal parade, where campers marched proudly through the halls showing off their costumes and waving to their fellow knights and princesses. There were dragons to outwit, riddles to solve, and magic potions (made from baking soda and vinegar) that bubbled and fizzed to everyone's delight.
It was the perfect way to open our summer together, full of imagination, laughter, and the kind of wide-eyed excitement that reminds us why this work is so meaningful. Our kids showed us this week that they are natural storytellers, brave adventurers, and creative thinkers.
Next week, our campers trade in their crowns for magnifying glasses as we dive into Insect Investigators. Get ready for some seriously fascinating discoveries!
