We're Here to Listen: Parent Sharing Conferences at St. Matthew's
No one knows a child quite like their family. You know what makes your child light up, what feels hard right now, and what you hope for as they grow. During Parent Sharing Conferences, October 5-9, we're making space to hear those things from you.
Your Time to Share
While teachers will have student work ready, parents will do most of the talking during these conferences. We want to hear about your child from your point of view.
What are your hopes and dreams for your child? What interests are you noticing at home? Is there a new skill you're celebrating or something you're concerned about? What would you like us to know as we care for and teach your child?
There aren't any right or wrong things to share. This is simply a time for an open, one-on-one conversation with your child's teacher.
We'll Listen and Learn
At St. Matthew's Weekday School, teachers use play, observation, and assessment together to understand each child's interests and development. What you share during your conference adds an important part of that picture.
Your stories, questions, hopes, and concerns will help teachers know what to watch for as they continue observing your child. They'll also help us think carefully about the classroom experiences and support that may encourage your child's continued growth.
Working Together for Your Child
Families and teachers each see different parts of a child's day. When we come together and listen to one another, we can better understand and support the whole child.
We're looking forward to hearing what's on your heart and learning more about the child you know best.
